I am an avid reader. As a pilot and a frequent traveller it means carrying a bundle of books with me. With airlines getting stricter and stickier about weight and carry-on hand baggage, what joy when I discovered Amazon's Kindle. Just imagine, carrying my entire library of 1500 books on a device the size of a paperback. Pure ecstasy. No more lugging around heavy books in plastic bags and no more scouring bookshops in different cities. I can buy a book, or books right from my Kindle and what's more, I don't have to pay wireless charges and I can do it from almost anywhere in the world as Amazon uses it's own "Whisper Net" technology. Books are downloaded within thirty seconds and once your account is setup with Amazon, purchasing a book is a one click process. Now that is technology for you.
As for the Kindle, it uses ink technology and is amazingly easy on the eyes. It opens where you last closed it. No dog - ears and no bookmarks. You can buy books, newspapers and magazines directly from the Kindle, no PC required, no internet connections required and no wi-fi required. The dictionary is built in and you can listen to your own music while reading and also have the kindle read out to you!
Go to Amazon.com and check out the Kindle. If you are a book lover and a traveller like me you'll love the Kindle. Oh, and when you do buy one don't forget to bless me.
